"It's a new club, but it's run by someone who is nowhere near new to the Valley's comedy scene. Chris has been creating opportunities for local comics to perform for years and has brought talent from all across the country to his shows." - Layla A.

Comedy Off Main St (COMS) is an intimate 50-seat comedy theatre. We book comedians that are the rising stars in comedy. COMS has hosted stand-up comedians who have appeared on Conan, The Ellen Show, Comedy Central, Fox TV Laughs, TLC, E’s Chelsea Lately, Showtime, PBS, TV Land, Nickelodeon, NBC Last Comic Standing and improvisers who studied and played at United Citizens Brigade NYC & LA and Second City Chicago.

We are grateful for the opportunity to work with Kelly’s Kids, an organization that provides children with autism with a developmental comedy program. Our goal is to have them gain an increase in self-confidence through stage performance and the joy of making others laugh. We are also proud to host The Peel Comedy Improv Summer Camp. Every summer, kids age 6 to 17 are introduced to the concepts of improvisation, game dynamics, creative teamwork and other useful life skills. Through the playing of fun short-form improv games and the exploration of musical improv, campers discover new skills to engage their creative side.

In addition to the headliner shows offered each weekend, we are committed to the development of the Phoenix comedy scene. We offer independently produced shows featuring the Valley’s funniest comedians, Tuesday through Thursday, with a well-attended open mic every Sunday. The Peel produces the Staycation Improv Festival each June and the Mesa Improv Festival in October. These festivals feature the best local improv talent performing each night, classes during the day and late night improv jams.

Chris Zuiker is the Owner of Comedy Off Main St and a 25-year entertainment industry veteran, producing independent music and comedy shows across Arizona. A Chicago native, Chris has developed COMS to be like the rooms on the Southside where comedians and audiences could connect through comedy. The theater features low ceilings with seats close to the stage so that audiences can feel like they’re part of the action. Chris enjoys telling jokes mostly about his family and what kind of trouble he’s found himself in lately, which seems to give him lots of material!
